This past weekend my parents came for a visit! It was their first time to Iowa and we were excited to show them around. One of our activities was the famous Iowa State Fair. For all you non-iowans- its kind of a big deal around here. Everyone looks forward to it all year. So we went and actually had a really fun time.

Oh yes. The Iowa State Fair. One of the biggest events of the year in Des Moines. We went two of the four years that we lived there. We had to find the butter cow both times we went, just cause everyone talked about it. And we couldn't believe all of the things they sold on sticks - Cheesecake, batter dipped deeped fried bacon and twinkies, the turkey leg that could feed 4 people, etc. I actually feel like I'm missing out a little bit. Glad you had fun.

That is one HOT boar. Ha. Nice! And glad to see that you finally got to see the butter cow--what a site to behold. Glad your family got to come out and spend time with you.
